The next example of faith is Abraham’s obedience to God’s command to offer Isaac. We begin in Hebrews 11 and then go to Genesis 22 to get the historical context. We see Abraham’s obedience and faithfulness,

Though they would die without ever seeing their promises fulfilled, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob did not abandon the promise or disobey the Lord by returning to the land they had left. They remained in the Promised Land,

Though initially greeting God’s promise with unbelief, Sarah triumphed in faith and conceived a son. She is an example of faith’s reward. An exposition of Hebrews 11:11-12.

Christians have been purchased from slavery to sin at an incredibly high price, the death of the eternal Second Person of the Divine Trinity, our Lord Jesus Christ. Contemplation of this reality is great motivation for lives of obedience.
