On today’s episode I continue walking through the book Lex Rex, by Samuel Rutherford. In chapter sixteen, we look at whether the ruler has the final authority to interpret the law. In chapter seventeen, we consider the situation where the people and their representatives may resist a tyrant. These are vital issue issue, for if the ruler is the final interpreter of the law, none may challenge him. And if the people may never resist a tyrant, he can murder them at will.
