Grandparents of Homeschoolers Protecting Future Generations – Barb and Rich Heki, Part 2

Join Yvette Hampton for the second part of her conversation with Rich and Barb Heki, founders of Grandparents of Homeschoolers! In this episode, they discuss that education IS discipleship, that grandparents are charged biblically with discipling their children and grandchildren (Psalm 78), that grandparents can make or break homeschooling for many families by their support or opposition, that the most effective solution for grandparents who oppose homeschooling is to get them involved, And, that long distance grandparents can also be actively involved!

We were blessed to have Barb and Rich Heki as speakers for the 2020 Homegrown Generation Family Expo. There is still time to register for lifetime access to this online homeschool conference, which will encourage and equip you whether you are just considering homeschooling or you are a long-time veteran. All attendees also get a Digital Swag Bag filled with hundreds of dollars of excellent homeschool resources. Register today at https://homegrowngeneration.com

Grandparents of Homeschoolers - Grandparents blessing their homeschooling grandchildren

Rich and Barb Heki are the founders and directors of Grandparents of Homeschoolers™. As veteran homeschool leaders with four adult children and three grandchildren, they speak nationally and internationally to encourage, inspire and equip grandparents to lovingly support, actively engage in and fully delight in the home-education adventure of their grandchildren – whether they live locally or long-distance.

Grandparents of Homeschoolers Interview - Video of grandparents talking about home education

As always, Backstage Pass members can watch this full interview here (40 minutes).

Having homeschooled their four children from birth to adulthood, the Hekis have served as homeschooling leaders, working with other national leaders, for nearly two decades. During these years, they have written articles, orchestrated events, spoken at conferences, served support groups, worked on homeschooling legislation, and counseled and encouraged homeschooling families one-on-one. They are passionate defenders of parental rights and homeschooling freedoms, encouraging families to seek God’s direction in every aspect of their homeschool journey. They view education as a lifestyle, believing that if we teach children HOW to learn, how to LOVE learning, and how to follow GOD’s direction in their lives, they will experience what true success really is.

As advocates of multi-generational family discipleship (because education IS discipleship), they are excited to be ministering to grandparents of homeschoolers, connecting the generations through home education.
