The Heidelberg Catechism can help us understand our sinful inclinations. Though God’s law exposes our sin, it also pushes us to Christ for comfort and rest. When we realize how deeply sin goes into us, we run to Christ, we receive Christ by true faith, and Christ helps us in our deepest struggles. There is comfort, rest, and hope in Christ as we battle and repent of concupiscence.
