Hypocrisy and the Gospel – Galatians 2:11-16

But when Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned. – Galatians 2:11

The hypocrisy of Peter and Paul’s “In your face” response is a portion of scripture that comes across as a bit shocking to the Christian spirit accustomed to meditating on love, forgiveness, and unity in the faith. Why was Peter being hypocritical and why did Paul oppose him in such a blatant and seemingly public manner?

There is a big lesson in this for all believers: will you stay the course when the heat is on and the world is pressuring you to move off of the narrow way?

The dark side seems to identify a believer’s weak spots and then exploit them at every opportunity.
