Lift Up Your Eyes!

“If you look at the world, you’ll be distressed. If you look within, you’ll be depressed. If you look at God you’ll be at rest.” ~ Corrie Ten Boom

In these times it’s easy to be downcast, for our minds to be consumed with events happening in the world around us.

“Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, and [then] comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest.” – John 4:35

We have here the antidote to being distressed by the world and depressed by sin and hopelessness. What the eyes of the world see as distressing, depressing, and hopeless, the eyes of a believer see as an opportunity for the message of the gospel, to be the light of Christ in the darkness.
