Today’s episode, the second of a four-part series, continues with a focus on the very timely issue of ungodly civil magistrates.  In their discussion, Andrew and Bud address the doctrine of lesser magistrates which is both a biblical and historical Christian teaching.  This doctrine, elucidated in the 16th-century Magdeburg Confession and affirmed by such Reformers as John Calvin and John Knox, helps guide the church in its response to unjust actions by magistrates.  Andrew explains how pastors must help Christians navigate such issues by calling them to do two seemingly simple, but profoundly and divinely powerful, duties: preach the law of God and preach the gospel of Christ.
